Resources
1. Your free reports
Federal law gives you free weekly access to your own credit reports at annualcreditreport.com — the official site. Anyone charging you for your own reports is selling you something you already own.
2. Disputing an error
If an entry is wrong, you can dispute it with the bureau that shows it, free, in writing or online. Keep copies of everything you send.
3. Credit monitoring
If you want alerts when your reports change, we use SmartCredit.
Affiliate link: we may earn a commission if you sign up. Monitoring shows you changes; it does not change your reports.
4. Credit repair services
If you want a company to handle disputes for you, that is a separate, regulated service offered by other companies. One we refer clients to is The Credit People.
Affiliate link: we may earn a commission. The Credit People is a separate company; New Wide Lending does not provide credit repair services.
